  In April 2011, the "Thai Japanese Mutual Aid Association (TJMA)" was established
  in Bangkok, Thailand. This incorporated association primarily engages with
  employees of Japanese companies based in Thailand and Japanese residents
  in the country, serving as a gathering place for individuals deeply resonating
  with Japanese culture and principles. Participants prioritize shared values
  and passion for Japanese culture over nationality, focusing on the spirit of
  mutual assistance and the concept of "Yamato-damashii" or the Japanese spirit.
  The operations of this mutual aid organization are carried out by members
  who cherish Japan and share its values, strengthening community bonds
  by offering platforms for introducing Japanese culture and fostering interactions.
  TJMA aims to support and enhance the bonds within the Japanese community
  in Thailand, becoming a heartfelt pillar of support for many Japanese
  individuals through its activities.

The mutual aid system exists as a mechanism to carry forward the deep bonds and spirit of mutual assistance observed in the Showa era, where neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces were closely interconnected. In the past, people supported one another, forming heartwarming communities. However, as we transition into the Reiwa era, such connections and the culture of mutual support have become less prevalent.

The primary objective of this mutual aid system is to provide an economic safety net for unexpected events such as death, hospitalization, and disasters. Members contribute regularly, enrolling in group insurance to establish a collective safety structure. In doing so, the entire organization can address challenges faced by individuals.

Moreover, the mutual aid system serves not only as a financial support mechanism but also assumes the role of a community of members genuinely committed to the spirit of mutual assistance. To maintain the purity and objectives of the initiative, participation is restricted to individuals with dangerous ideologies or issues.

Furthermore, beyond mere financial aid, the system extends dedicated support to vulnerable members of society, particularly children with physical disabilities. Through these endeavors, the mutual aid system plays a crucial role in fostering not just economic security but also enhancing societal solidarity and shared values.

In conclusion, the mutual aid system serves as an economic safety net while preserving the traditional spirit of mutual assistance and bonds in contemporary times. Additionally, by supporting children with physical disabilities, it contributes to fostering societal cohesion. Upholding its values and mission is essential as we strive to create a society where more individuals can live with peace of mind.

If a TJMA member dies in Thailand and wishes to be cremated in Thailand, in cooperation with the bereaved family, You can hold a funeral at Wat That Thong, a temple in Ekkamai.

From 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on the second and third Saturdays of every month, we provide tax and legal advice to Thailand.

Insurance shall be provided when a TJMA member has applied for group insurance and he/she is sick, is injured, dies, or suffers from a disaster.



■ Mutual aid for the surviving family

If the beneficiary of the member dies, the benefit will be paid to the spouse.
The family register includes the spouse and children.Or, it is limited to the designated recipient at the time of enrollment.

REGISTER

■ Admission Procedure


Please post (EMS) or bring following documents to us.
Admission fee shall be paid at the same time.

1. A set of admission application. (Please refer to application in left column.)
2. A set of medical checkups "health declaration" at the time of admission (Please refer to application). The past medical history and family structure etc. shall be clearly written in the health declaration.
     • Members shall be withdrawn immediately in case of non-compliance with disclosure requirements.
     • Members who intend to use our insurance maliciously or who do not follow our principle shall be withdrawn after it has been discussed at director's council.
3. In all plans, there will be a contract of at least half a year. Those without a visa or tourist visa will not be able to enter the plan.
4. A copy of ID card or passport. It's signature on picture page and page of Visa.
5. Entry fee + monthly membership fee + union fee. (Depending on each plan.)

The deadline for submitting application documents before 15th of every month. The coverage will start on 1st of every next month. In case of non-compliance with disclosure or by result from insurance company. The coverage cannot start on 1st of next month.

The entry fee is250฿. (Registration fee + Insurance application procedure + Membership card issuing fee + Discounts card for medical expenses in affiliated hospitals.)
Members who choose to pay every 3 months will be required to pay6 months membership the first time.

So, the entry fee is 250฿ + monthly membership fee (25฿ x 6 or 12 months) + union fee (6 or 12 months).



■ The conditions for membership of TJMA


TJMA Association mainly targeted at Japanese people working and living in the Kingdom of Thailand. Including Japanese spouses or children Japanese, language school, student’s university, Employees of Japanese companies, etc. If members between the ages of 7 and 65 can join the 8 existing plans. For those who wish to join at their age of below 7 years old or 65 years old and above without insurance. Can join uninsured insurance plans (Membership fee is 1500 baht per year) Members will receive a discount from affiliated hospitals and consult. Whether you are in the long-term or short-term (About half a year) you must have a residence in Thailand. In the absence of a visa or tourist visa. You cannot join the association.

Insurance for the association insurance cards can be used instead of cash at affiliated hospitals in Thailand. It also covers overseas and other regions, but please pay the full cost of medical treatment and submit a medical certificate and original receipt to the association. to request a refund of the medical insurance of the specified amount, which will be refunded within one month.

RESIGNATION

■ Corporate members include members of the general public


1. Violators of Principles and Rules.
    Individuals who act against the union's fundamental principles and rules, hindering smooth operation and damaging harmony and efficiency.
2. Self-Centered Actors.
    People who engage in self-centered behavior, particularly those who criticize the union on social media. Their attitude is inappropriate for members, negatively affecting other members and potentially harming the union's social reputation.
3. Late Fee Payers.
    Individuals who fail to pay their union fees within the specified period from the 12th to the 26th of each month. This behavior impacts the union's financial stability and reliability, potentially causing funding issues.

    These problematic behaviors obstruct the effective operation of the union and negatively impact other members. Therefore, proper management and adherence to rules are necessary. Violators may be subject to expulsion following a review by the board of directors. This measure aims to maintain the union's healthy operation and benefit all members.
